US 285 (Hampden Reconstruction, Denver to Lakewood, Colorado

Concrete Express (CEI) was selected by CDOT to design and build a major reconstruction of US 285 (Hampden Road) from Federal Boulevard to Kipling Street) through multiple jurisdictions requiring astute coordination and keen understanding of the various issues and desires of each agency. Reconstruction included replacement of six bridges, rehabilitation of eight bridge decks, installation of approximately five miles of pavement, several utility relocations, stormwater improvements, numerous minor structures and transverse culvert crossings, and the addition of several water quality ponds and features throughout the project.

CEI scheduling methods and well thought out workplans streamlined completion of key project features without issue allowing for maintenance of traffic earning the praise of CDOT's Project Director, "My compliments to all of you, for your well executed plan! It is a major milestone to have the last old bridge down and in record time too. This team has made a blistering path for others to follow and are a fine example of innovative design and planning and execution. Great work!"

Florida Road Reconstruction, Durango, Colorado

CEI provided design-build construction services for the reconstruction of a major urban arterial in Durango. The project is approximately 2.2 miles of 3-lane roadway with detached sidewalks, including a roundabout, 16 intersections, MSE retaining walls, and sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and waterlines. In addition, the project also included traffic signals, street lighting, streetscape elements, stamped concrete flatwork, landscaping, and a multiuse trail and bike lanes.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 20, 2011. The $17 million rebuild was the city's largest and most expensive publicly funded project.
